SO YOU JUST CAUGHT A FERAL DOG....

If it's a FEMALE....

1. A female could be pregnant so make A VET APPOINTMENT TO SPAY her before you trap her. Once the dog is caught, take her in the trap to the vet. Zip tie the trap while transporting. Carry the trap inside the vet's office, place into an enclosed kennel. Once the dog is sedated, ask the vet to attach a martingale collar, tags, harness and long line. Have the dog spayed, vaxxed and wormed. While the dog is still sedated, transport her home to your outdoor kennel - or indoor crate- where socialization begins! 

The collar, harness and long line make it easier to socialize, especially if she' so wild that she's untouchable. The long line will act as a drag line, it's the first step with leash training. It gives you a measure of control while working with her.
